Although most shows I do a wedding receptions with a ocasional highschool/middleschool function thrown in. This is actually my second pair of headphones since the last ones I had lasted me for about 6 yrs.
I decided to try them for myself. After reading the reviews of other DJs on Amazon and asking around.
I don't have to turn up the volume to loud to hear the music. So far I love them.
The sound quality is GREAT. So a word of advice to other djs take care of your equipment and it will take care of you.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is starting out, or has been in the busniess for quite sometime.
I had these for 1 year until they got stolen, but up to that point these headphones were sensational.the Bass is strong and it can make your head shake if your not careful. there's no reason to give these any less then 5 stars I miss having these. Sound is crips, deep bass, clear trebbles. doesnt cancel noise very well, but if you have a good mixer and cue monitor you can set it to hear exactly what you need to and these headphones will deliver the sound well. I use the HDJ-800's now but the 1000's are excellent.
Pros:Sound - Very good quality sound, especially clear, crisp bass. Work well for electronic dance music.User experience - wide range of possible positions of each head phone, useful for various DJ requirements, folds up small for ease of transport and storage.Look - modern, professionalCons:Comfort for long periods - after a couple of hours ears felt a bit sore from being firmly held by head phones. This could improve with time as head phone frame softens.Durability - no issues short-term - but a friend with the same head phones found that the plastic joint just above the head phone, just below the letter R or L, broke after some time. This issue has also been reported elsewhere on internet.
If you want a tight and crisp sound, go for the HDJ-1000's even though they are a bit pricey. I've been a great fan of the MDR-V700's but they are slightly muddy on the low end now that I've had the HDJ-1000 experience and think otherwise.
Anything under $120 is REALLY suspicious. Beware, I had to return mine to the seller and get a full refund.
Yes, the counterfeits have arrived on Amazon. Really crisp sound and clearer compared to the Sony MDR-V700's.
Gladly, the refund process went pretty smoothly but if you expect a lot from these headphones, you'd be really disappointed with the counterfeit; it's a piece of expensive garbage, a toy. Fortunately, I got my hands on a real set of HDJ-1000's and they're absolutely great (although, the construction is poor and is made of cheap materials).
They're both great headphones, nonetheless. If you enjoy your music with overflowing bass and umph, the MDR-V700's are fantastic for that.
The thing that is bad is the audio leakage. They fair well, quit well. Other than that, the bass and treble and everything in between is great. What I hear, other people hear it, too. I'm not rough with my item.
It has that squeak sound. I did read some issues on here, but I never ran into them. These are both good and bad depending on the situation, but bad for the most part. I didn't want to write with my first impressions. The only problem I have is that the ear part twists and locks, and it feels like it can break easily, but it doesn't, when I use it.
This headset is so great, I wanted to do a video review. When I have my earphones on, I can't hear anything going on around me, which is good and bad, depending on the situation. I don't slam them on my ears nor do I drag or pull them off abruptly. I never had any problems. Voice is clear. Great sound quality.
Anyways, great new experience.Comfort: (7/10)It goes around the head nice, but it does get annoying, but you do get used to it, and it does slip off your head easily. Bass is bumping. Not only does it look nice, it is nice.Audio Quality: (9/10)I almost want to give it a 10 out of 10, but it does have some flaws. They're still great.Extra: I have been using these headphones for 3 weeks in a row with all my songs that takes advantage of bass and treble and vocals. If you treat them as they are, they will last and will be nice to you, too.I totally love these and you should definitely give them a try. They're headphones, any headphone will break if you abuse them. I can even hear the acoustic guitar struming, which I never heard before. Great sound.
I listened to online radio stream. which I will, real soon and will post it on the youtube under the name username.Ok, on with the review:Build Quality: (9/10)These are great quality headphones. If you want high end audio, give them a try. If you are a mid-level audiophile, they're definitely for you. It's just great. I listen to youtube audio. These are expensive headphones and if you buy them, you SHOULD know how they fair. It's not that.
I really wanted to test them out before I did a review. Other than that, it fits comfortable around the ears.Overall: (9/10)This is a solid product. Great product. I did as much as I can and used them with every type of genre of music and these things performed well. I would definitely recommend them.
